Pelé Academia arose from a desire expressed by the King of Soccer, after scoring his thousandth goal. Pelé asked that the children of Brazil have education, leisure, citizenship, and, with this, the opportunity to seek a better future.
The project was designed and had its launch announced on August 2, 2016, in an event in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. The three-time world champion and athlete of the 20th century presented the methodology that consists of the discovery, preparation, and training of athletes in consonance with education.
With the construction work completed in 2018, the King went in person to inaugurate the training centre that Resende Futebol Clube now uses, and the city began to draw the attention of Brazil and the world for the proposal of the social and sports project.
Located at the intersection between BH (Belo Horizonte), RJ (Rio de Janeiro) and SP (São Paulo), three of the largest cities in the country. Far from the temptations of big cities, Resende is the perfect place to house this professionalization hub of Brazilian soccer and assist in the education of children in the region.
